Neat-o Liquid Layout

Anyone read this article about a progressive liquid layout? I wonder how easy/difficult it would be to adapt Tiki to something like this...

Could be done, no doubt, but as the discussion following the article shows, there are some issues/questions about this approach. I suppose Tiki's using Hawhaw helps take care of the mobile screen sizes somewhat. Also, with Tiki already pretty complex, we have to be careful about adding more files, etc. I'm not sure if the overhead to provide specific content/layout for "settop tv" and "old crt screen" is really justified by the level of demand. Something to keep an eye on and tinker with, though, especially if it can be done in a way that improves performance for a significant group of users without adding too much complexity.

Good points, all, Gary. I'm thinking specifically of what happens to a 3-column Tiki when you start shrinking the screen space. Since the left and right columns are fixed, it is the middle (i.e., main content) column that shrinks. It would been neat (IMHO) to have, at a specific size, the two side columns move under the main column. Just a thought....
